Here’s to new beginnings. Happy New Year!

INSPIRATION

In our December newsletter, we offered some writing tips from Ernest Hemingway. But we realize that motivation is as important as technique. Starting a novel seems like a daunting task. Perhaps the encouragement of some of these famous authors will help.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” George Bernard Shaw

[And you create yourself by expressing yourself through writing. It is therapeutic.]

“Life is a book. Every day is a new page, every month is a new chapter, every year a new series.” Anonymous

“Writing comes from reading, and reading is the finest teacher of how to write.” Annie Proulx

“I always kept two books in my pocket, one to read and one to write in.” Robert Louis Stevenson

[Yes, always be a good observer of life around you for inspiration in your writing.]

“A writer only begins a book. A reader finishes it.” Samuel Johnson

“What at first may appear to be an ending is often a new beginning. Anonymous

“If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.” J K Rowling

[We have a few suggestions.]

“Authors do not choose a story to write. The story chooses us.” Richard Denney

“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.” Robert Frost

“When writing a novel, a writer should create living people; people, not characters. A character is a caricature.” Ernest Hemingway

“You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.” Anonymous

Five Star Review – Casi Di Nova

“Zaragoza has written an entertaining book about an unlikely Mexican hero. One of the better romantic comedies I have read. The characters were well developed, and the story was interesting. I enjoyed it and kept reading. I definitely recommend it to romantic comedy fans.”
