With Inspector Han from Hong Kong, whose family had been murdered by the same man, the partners face increasing threats, forcing them to relocate their families out of state. Rush Hour meets Serpico. Pablo Zaragoza’s action-packed crime thriller takes you to the crime-infested streets of the 60s NYC Chinatown in a tale of crooked cops, drug-running Chinese triads, and a team-up between Hong Kong and New York detectives. Matson’s Case No. 3 moves at a blistering pace, leaving you breathless with suspense, drama, hair-raising action sequences, and plenty of thrills. The characters are well-developed, and it doesn’t take much to root for Matson, Smith (his partner), and Han. The dynamic between the three runs the narrative forward, and it feels like one of the primary highlights of the book. With each passing page, the twists and turns of the plot keep you hooked. Anyone who loves Buddy cop movies or sleuth stories will find this one entertaining.
