THE LEGENDS OF LAKE NEBAGAMON
REVIEW: THE LEGENDS OF LAKE NEBAGAMON
By 8-Year-Old Preston
Dear Readers:
I am excited to write about Pablo Zaragoza’s newest book, The Legends of Lake Nebagamon.” The story is about a family’s summer vacation in a cabin in Wisconsin. The main character, George, is six years old. He fishes and swims. He also sees people others don’t see. He watches mermaids who seek children swimming.
He can think “fire” and his hands create balls of fire. Imagination, mystery, and suspense stopped me from putting the book down. I give this book a five star review. The message learned is “wherever you go, there you are.” After reading the book I learned George was a real person in life who loved family, friends and animals. He died too soon. This book is a tribute to him. Next month, a celebration of his life takes place. Enjoy this book. I loved it.
Preston, Age 8
STARS AND MORE STARS!
In this month of celebrations, we thank our readers who shower us with stars and humble us with words of praise.
* Armageddon – Cunningly plotted story of evil with strong appeal to fans of horror
* Casi Di Nova – Very funny story of a humble Mexican on his way to becoming a local hero
* The Kokomo Railroad – A true story with an impact similar to that of Uncle Tom’s Cabin
* The Lilium – What Anne Rice does for vampires, Pablo Zaragoza does for demons. Wow!
WORDS
What’s 3,000,000 – that’s three million? Words. Yes, that’s how many Pablo has written in the past six years. And, like a certain battery-charged bunny, he keeps on ticking… er, typing.
Susan lags far behind in written words, but she has scored far more than that in words read and edited in 250 books over 25 years in the business.
Of course, it’s not a competition. It’s all about doing what we love doing, and it keeps us going day after day.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR STORY?
We all have stories to tell. From the years you have lived, people you have known, the work you have done, and places you have lived or visited, you have many stories to tell.
Summertime means time off for some folks, vacation plans for others, but why not devote part of your summer to writing your first book? One word at a time, and before you know it, you’re on your way to being a published author.
After all, writing is all about getting a story out of you – fiction or non-fiction. One note, as we mentioned in an earlier newsletters: If you’re writing your memoir or autobiography, hook the reader early on by starting with some dramatic or life-changing event that happened to you, and after you describe that event, you can do a flashback to earlier years.
COMING SOON
Pablo’s one and only sci-fi novel, BacterioStatic, will arrive on our website sometime in July. An amorphous element eats energy… from handheld flashlights to vehicle engines to huge power stations… to people! It soon escapes those who controlled it, forcing the military to intervene as they try to intercept it before it causes major power outages throughout the East Coast
